The work of @xsiiagoth, which first began and unfolded in 2018, started as an exploration of the spiritual world and the faith sought to protect against it. Born and raised in South Korea, the artist was influenced by shamanism, and due to a family misfortune arising from it, began searching for a God opposed to that, which led to an exploration of Catholicism. The works featuring the Virgin Mary, Gothic architecture and what are called cyber sigils are not simply an attempt to find a genre in modern society that suits the needs of the new generation, but rather approach the body as body jewellery that carries an energetic desire for protection against great malevolent spiritual forces and imprints it onto the body.
